Description
Zimbabwean Traditional Dance is unique in its rhythms and movements. While it depicts activities from daily life such as planting and harvesting, it also connects the dancer to a deep part within him/herself. Ms. Chigamba will teach traditional dances handed down by her mother and father and carried on by her sisters and brothers. Students will be immersed in Zimbabwean dance, music and drumming. She will also explain the costumes, tribal rituals and language (primarily Shona), and the meaning and background of the dance movements and other aspects of the dances.
